I’ve dedicated the past 19 years to teaching high school students, and for the last 12 years, I’ve had the rewarding experience of teaching them how to become educators themselves. My passion for education extends beyond the classroom; I hold a school counseling certification for K-12 and principal certification for PreK-12 in Pennsylvania, which has broadened my ability to support and lead within the educational field.
During this journey, I became deeply attached to interacting with the young children in our lab. Their beaming smiles and enthusiastic responses made my day and brought a new level of fulfillment to my work. This experience reinforced my love for nurturing young learners and contributed to my excitement as I step into a new chapter in my career. I look forward to leveraging my extensive experience and certifications to continue making a positive impact and inspiring both students and educators.
I am Jenn Smith, an educator with over 20 years of experience dedicated to making a meaningful impact on young minds. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s in General Education and Special Education. Since earning my degrees in 2003, I have focused on supporting and nurturing students, including those with special needs and behavioral health challenges. My extensive experience includes working with children with autism and over 20 years in Early Childhood Education.
In my personal life, I am happily married to my husband, Tom, and we are proud parents to twin boys. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, camping, and spending quality time with friends and family, along with our two beloved dogs
