Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistants to join our team in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students. Teacher Assistants will work closely with lead teachers to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where every child can grow with confidence and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily lesson plans
- Supervise and engage with children during educational activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child’s daily activities and progress
- Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and cleanup
- Support children with individual learning needs and behavioral guidance
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions
- Model positive behavior and serve as a role model for children
- Collaborate with teaching team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2,500 hours of documented experience working with children
- High School diploma or GED
- Passion for early childhood education and child development
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm when working with young children
- Physical ability to lift children, sit on the floor, and engage in active play
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass background check and health screenings as required by state licensing
Preferred Qualifications
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or coursework in early childhood education
- Experience in licensed childcare or educational settings
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Bilingual skills
